Erik "Silky" Moore started dancing at the early age of nine. He received his initial training from Debbie Fratta’s Dance Concepts. While still a member of this studio Erik appeared as a featured performer on the St. Jude’s Telethon for two consecutive years. Erik continued his training at the Connecticut Academy of Performing Arts. While there, Erik was asked to perform for the Governor of the state of Connecticut. In September of 2003 Erik joined the dancers at Studio 5D of Oviedo, Florida. During his first months at the studio Erik was asked to serve as the assistant teacher to the advanced tap classes. Studio 5D is where Erik began his competitive dance career. In his first international competition Erik won the title of Teen Mr. Starquest.
Erik is a very entertaining and inspiring dancer, who’s specialties include Tap, Hip-Hop, Modern and Jazz. You may have seen him recently as a featured dancer on seasons five and six of Fox’s hit television show “So You Think You Can Dance”. His style and choreography has won numerous awards and made him a wanted choreographer in many parts of the country.
This Wiesbaden, Germany born native has positioned himself for the career of a lifetime. From Dancing to Singing to Choreography, Joe Berry's career spans more than twenty (25) years. Joe started taking ballet at age four (4) in Wiesbaden, Germany and has studied across the globe from Spain to Los Angeles, New York, St. Louis, Nashville, Miami, Tampa, Denver, Mexico City, New Jersey, Dallas, San Antonio, Fort Worth, Orlando, Tulsa, Atlanta, New Orleans, & Chicago. Mr. Berry is now a recent addition to the NBA & NFL Dancer Alumni Teaching Staff. He is now among many great choreographers and dance teachers that prepare young ladies for a dance career in the NBA & NFL.
Mr. Berry can add to his credit of having several of his former students compete as contestants on “So You Think You Can Dance”. Along with television, former students are now on tour with Justin Timberlake, Janet Jackson, and Britney Spears. Always finding time to stay in class himself, Mr. Berry has studied under great choreographers such as Sonya Tayeh; choreographer for “So You Think You Can Dance”.
After 25 years in the industry, JB has worked with such recording artist as MC Breed, Liza Minnelli, Phyllis Hyman, Billie Preston, Grace Jones, Bell Biv DeVoe, Boyz II Men, Don Diego, Benita Arterberry and touring with Ice Cube, Chubb Rock and Hi-Five, to just name a few. In the late 90’s, Joe Berry was one of the first choreographers for the nationally recognized, Dallas Mavs Dancers. From 2001-2004 Joe was resident choreographer and Asst. Director for Tarrant County College, in which he staged, choreographed, and produced productions such as The Wiz and Once On This Island; which were received with rave reviews from Theatre critics, proclaiming his choreography as "First Rate Broadway". Joe Berry’s television, film, stage, and radio credits are endless: Chuck E. Cheese, Fox Television, Seven-Eleven, MTV, Buena Vision, Serving Sara, The Rookie, The Wash, & Texas Lottery, Guys & Dolls, Biloxi Blues, A Chorus Line, and Morning Show Radio Personality on the Tom Joyner Morning Show.
In 2004, Joe Berry launched his own dance studio, JB & Company Dance Xtreme. Now celebrating his 9th Anniversary, Mr. Berry holds several 1st place Regional and National dance titles in hip-hop and contemporary from Thunderstruck Dance Competition, Talent on Parade, Legacy Dance Championships, StarPower National Talent Competition, Creations Dance Championship, and Hall of Fame Dance Challenge as well as Best Choreography award for hip-hop and contemporary from StarPower National Talent Competition, Hall of Fame Dance Challenge, Creations National Dance Championships, Fire & Ice National Talent Competition, Sophisticated Productions and Hollywood Vibe National Talent Competition. Joe currently judges for several dance competitions such as Talent On Parade, Creation National Dance Championships, & Starbound National Dance Competition.
Brandon Swaney was born and raised in Wichita KS and has been involved in the Performing Arts since he was 2 years of age. Brandon started out with gymnastics and competed at the elite level in competitions all over the United States. At the age of 7, He began his training in dance. Brandon has studied Ballet,, Jazz,, Tap, Lyrical, and Modern. He choreographs all around the country and is known for his unique choreography that has won at National Levels everywhere. Brandon is best known for his intense teaching method. While he teaches each student that technique and core training are both very important, he strives to develop the beauty of dance through emotion and movement.
Brandon's students have gone on to "So You Think You Can Dance, Dancing With The Stars, Glee, MTV Music Awards, Cold Blood, America's Got Talent, The Emmy Awards, and touring with Lady Gaga, Madonna, Alicia Keys, and Pink. Brandon has choreographed opening numbers for Talent On Parade Dance Competition and has worked with choreographers all over the world. He currently is the Artistic director for a dance studio in the Midwest and continues to share his passion with dancers all over the nation.
Angel Hairston, of Little Rock, AR, began her dance training under Debbie Murphy and Christen Burke Pitts. Angel has had extensive training in many ballet, jazz, modern and contemporary styles. Throughout her childhood years she trained locally under various choreographers and instructors. At age 12, Angel began traveling nationally to participate in master classes and to pursue training under many well renowned choreographers. At age 16 she began teaching and choreographing. Most of her teenage years were spent as a competition dancer, after winning multiple dance scholarships to attend the University of Arkansas at Little Rock as a dance major that quickly changed. While studying under the UALR faculty, as a recipient of several dance scholarships, Angel became familiar with many well known modern and classical dance styles such as the Graham and Horton styles. During this time choreography and teaching became her truest passion and at age 19 after winning countless national titles and scholarships while performing her own choreography, Angel began sharing her knowledge with students of all ages. Angel has won multiple choreography awards and been recognized for her stunning choreography and dance style. In 2013 Angel opened a dance studio of her own in Central Arkansas known as Next Level Elite Dance Company. Here she houses an elite dance performance company and travels nationally showcasing her work.
Brandon Von Ohlen
Brandon Von Ohlen was born on Long Island, New York but grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas. He was inspired to begin his dancing career at the age of 5 after watching Gene Kelly perform in Singing In The Rain. He trained and competed in hip hop, tap, ballet, and contemporary for 16 years and subsequently began choreographing hip hop dances for studios regionally. After graduating from Harding University, Brandon moved back to New York to pursue his love of dance. He is currently training at Broadway Dance Center under the guidance of Kelly Peters, Neil Schwartz and many other talented choreographers. He also trains with his crew Generation X, which is also directed by Kelly Peters.
